This an important lab question for biology. something about the sugar make up is different. Don't know what.

There is no sugar in diet! It uses an artificial sweetener. I believe the sugar molicules are bigger and there are more of them. Try a google search between sugar and artificial sweeteners.

the only way to tell the difference by looking is obviously, read the labels. but i have noticed that diet soda tends to have a more smooth, almost slick look than regular soda. it also tends to look a little thicker because of the added sweetner. hope this helps.

well there is no sugar in diet pop and another thing is for some reason when diet pop is ingested it tends to make the drinker more gassy another thing i have noticed is more carbonation is in diet pop

"normal" soda is usually loaded with corn syrup as the sweetening agent. I don't know how you can look at the liquid and tell, though.

regular soda has high fructose corn syrup and or sugar

diet soda has either aspartame , sucralose, saccharin, or Acesulfame-K or a combination of two.
