I prefer the word spirituality to religion. Religion is a package handed out by religious authorities through a historical process. I don't believe you can just swallow it whole like religious leaders (especially fundamentalists) suggest. The great religious texts of history provide insight into spiritual matters, insights into a more subtle, more mysterious aspect of existence.
Science is concerned with what our senses can discern, with the physical world in which we live. So for me, the two aren't really in competition. It's only religious literalists and fundamentalists that enter into conflict when they insist on text over scientific evidence.

i assume i'm in a similar subject, in spite of the fact that i'm protestant, btw i do no longer think of the church does say that the earth is 6000 years old. In my journey maximum Christians settle for the belief of evolution. besides, i understand the variety you experience, i've got been there - did no longer extremely understand no count if i grew to become right into a Christian or no longer because of the fact I wasn't totally happy with the aid of Christianity and felt quite cynical approximately it, yet on the comparable time had seen and experienced issues which i could no longer clarify or forget approximately approximately. i think of the full Adam and Eve element is symbolic of ways human beings grew to become faraway from God. it would be quite bizarre if the bible contained a scientific clarification of ways the earth grew to become into created - the creation tale does say stuff grew to become into created interior the comparable order as evolution might have occured. e.g. flora, then animals, then human beings etc. additionally, i in my view hate the thought that maximum human beings on yahoo solutions look to have that faith and technological awareness are antagonistic.

Science works by developing hypotheses and then by gathering evidence to prove or not prove these hypotheses. Thus, we KNOW what is real or not. We do NOT have to BELIEVE anything.
All religion offers is FANTASY, FICTION, FRAUD, AND MYTH. Religion isn't based upon any facts at all, except possibly the fact that the ignorant and the superstious are easily duped into clinging to whatever lie is tossed their way.
Rational, intelligent, well-educated people chose SCIENCE.

Because they are afraid to discover that their paradigm is flawed. Also: they would be required to actually accept responsibility for their actions and decisions rather than having the Universe run by a mythological figure.

How do you think the universe was created. It didn't just get here or with the big boom. Some one created it, and that someone was GOD. Yes, things have been discovered, but they were also in Biblical times. I would rather believe in God,knowing we have a maker of ALL creation than not.
