so with that said ---How many think America should stop the financial support of a billion a year to them?.....

I do. I also think we should shut down all support to other countries except for those that have actually supported us. That's what all the other countries do. When the others get in trouble, make them get themselves out of it, instead of calling us for help and then dogging us after we leave them with food and money.

The U.N. realizes something you don't... protocol.

Protocol means that no matter who it is, weather you agree with them or not, they have a position of power or influence you pay respect to that position or office (not the person who is in office). Weather you agree or not.

The UN standing doesn't mean they agree with Chavez at all.

If the Prez walked in wouldn't you stand?

Just because you politely give applause doesn't mean you are in line with their views. There is the common courtesy still established in the world.

Your second question is a whole other basket of eggs.

We need to work with the UN, like it or not. I think it is a joke, but it helps us more often than it hurts.
The solution in my mind would be to put a bullet in Chavez. Not for what he said, but for inciting more hatred against America. Every time a nut like that speaks, more people join their cause. And I really don't care what the UN thinks of the US (as long as they aren't helping our enemies kill us), they come crying to us any time the have a problem anyway.

Weird world. We always blame the good guy. Then we support the idiots out of some strange sort of guilt. Chavez vs the US... how does that justify a clap? What a hypocrite.

Chavez , as a president he has shown no dignity regardless his views about the United States. America, throughout history have given millions to countries we loved or hate. I believe , Chavez should be removed from office. He has no right to back lash about U.S.

To say I worry about what the UN thinks about anything is laughable. They are nothing but a bunch of yes men who will applaud anything anyone says. If they have a greivance with another country they propose sanctions. And then they know damn good and well they will not follow through. I say it should be scrapped. Nothing more than a way of making another public appearance for appearances sake.

Most of the world would agree with Chavez.

Mixing politics with business is called fascism. It is what was done in Italy, Germany and now the U.S.

The business side of the system will not let the political side interfere with their schemes just because one goofus spoke what many consider the truth about one puppet.

And Chavey was ever so right....that must hurt the most, except that he compared bush to the devil, when that guy hardly rates as a minor demon. May be he was mistaken about the smell.
May be somebody told Bush he'd have to debate with Ahmedinjad after all...

Ask chavez why, if his country is moral, just and utopian, why Mexicans, when trying for a better life, head north instead of south.
