Leave-in conditioner! If you have the Body Shop near you, pick up Amlika leave-in conditioner. I find it's the best. Also, you can't go wrong with a bit of gel when your hair's still wet. There are curl enhancing products that might be worth a try. I think it's best to just accept the curl instead of trying to fight it. Straightening it every once in a while is a nice change, but curls can be beautiful. You should try to let your hair dry naturally, blow-drying usually makes any type of hair bigger/bushier. Also, I once saw a trick where after putting some gel in the wet hair you take your hair in strips and just twist them around your fingers and leave them to dry separated like that. It helps define the curls.

Here's the Body Shop website, you can even order the conditioner online: http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/browse/product_detail.jsp?productId=prod170050

Ionic straightening that you get done at a salon. It's expensive but it works beautifully. I used to have thick, curly, frizzy hair and I dreaded humidity. After this process, I have straight, thick, silky hair. The treatment is permanent and has to be touched up as new hair grows in. Make sure you go to a salon that has experience with ionic straightening. If/when you go to have it done, it takes 4-5 hours. Good luck!
