In the past I never wanted to go on a cruise. I kept saying, why would I want to go on a boat for ten days and be restricted! My mom finally talked me into going on a Caribbean cruise , Royal Caribbean Line. I could not believe it! I did not want to leave this ship. We had a balcony that we had coffee and danish on in the am before breakfast while we were getting dressed. Since that first time I have been on three more cruises, all on the Royal Carri bean. You are treated like Kings and Queens. I just cannot say enough. My last cruise I went to Spain, France and Italy. The ship was beautiful and the history in those countries was wonderful. The people were not friendly, there is a huge language barrier it is a different way of life. I decided that from now on I will stay in the good old USA or the islands. My next cruise in a year will be to Hawaii then the year after will be Alaska and I will only go Royal Carib. My Sis in law is a travel agent for the past 25 years and she has been on all the great ships. She said none can compare to Royal Carib. Go on the cruise, It is also very romantic and extremely fun. The food and activities are beyond belief. You will not be bored. Best of Luck.

to be honest here you really have to ask yourself what you like.
How old are you both, what type of things do you like to do.
The best question is where was you favorite vacation. Where do you want to leave from? What is your budget?
Carnival is the party boats. However they have come a long way in the last few years. Food is not to bad.
Royal Caribbean is family mixed crowd. The newer ships are awesome! Food is just OK. Service is good.
NCL~ Stay away! Far away! I was on the dream last year.... UGH! They tried to rip us off for about 500.00 I have heard others say the same thing.
Princess is an mid age crowd. Service is great, rooms are nice, Really not for kids. They have fallen in ratings since carnival took over. Just my opinion.
Holland America is upper class mostly older.
Oceania is also first class boat Smaller ships, service is awesome.
One thing to keep in mind is everyone likes different things. So what one person might think is great another might hate.
After you have answered all the above questions, Call a local travel agent. You do not pay one dime more to use one. And if you do, find a different one. Plus you usually get a nice gift or a group rate dealing with an agent. Plus if anything should happen they deal with it not you!
Make sure you get the insurance~
Hope this helps

Depending on your age and the type a crowd you wanna be around there are different lines that accommodate that I have been on six cruises here are the lines and what they have to offer: Holland America:Great food very laid back atmosphere more for the 50+ and family's crowd ..Carnival:Party ships: lots of 21 and teens night life galore Norwegian: I would say it is two steps down from Holland America..
Cruises are absolutely worth it I've had the best time of my life on those ships you gotta go to the east Caribbean!have fun hope this was helpful!

Carnival is always a great choice for a first cruise. Lots of entertainment, activities and food.
They are relatively inexpensive, and have big, clean ships.
From there, you can delve into the costlier, specialty cruises.
From Atlanta, start with the Carribbean - close to home, and not too costly.

IT DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE TO SPEND. ROYAL CARIBBEAN AND N.C.L. ARE BOTH NICE... FREESTYLE CRUISING ON N.C.L. IS GREAT-TRY MEXICAN RIVIERA OR THE SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN...
