I have heard that Rogaine for women helps and I know that PHYTO hair care also sells excellent plant based products that can really help.

Phyto sells a hair and nail supplement called PHYTOPHANERE that is amazing - you can check it out on drugstore.com/beauty.com. It works so good - celebs like Jennifer Aniston use it and she has always had nice hair - more so recently though and she started to use it about that time. Whatever supplement you do take, make sure it has a lot of Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, B vitamins, etc - you may want to check the label for that supplement I mentioned at that website and then compare the ingredients in it to a cheaper version that you can get at GNC or something. Most hair and nails vitamins are similar but those 2 ingredients are most important - and PHYTO makes the #1 best one - without a doubt. GNC products are more pricey than ones in the grocery store but not much different so even though Phyto is more expensive, the bottle lasts for 2 months and it is WELL worth it - they recommend taking it for at least four months.

I don't know if any supplement however is going to stop thinning hair - it may help it get healthier, shinier, etc but it is worth a try to see if it works cause it may.
Also, make sure you are gentle to your hair even though it is not breakage, something that you are using or doing could be contributing to the thinning.

I would also see a dermatologist to rule out any other causes of this. I am not sure what age you are but many women have thinning hair as they get older and end up having hair similar to their mother so you may want to think about if your hair is starting to look more like hers, etc. Mine used to be sooo thick and as I am getting older it is thinner - still thick but not as thick as it used to be.. it is actually just finer not "thinner" - but I would do all of the above - you are guaranteed to see some results. Good luck :o)

Hope this helps to some degree.
Drink Plenty of water, feed yourself well and go to bed at decent hours!
Let hair air dry sometimes.
Some people(myself) with long hair falls more than wear it at short or medium length.
Anti Dandruff shampoo thins your scalp skin and cause hair thinning for me. Any Mild Shampoo. J&J is great.
Try Allergic scratch test. It will tell you what your body does not like. You might be surprised at what you find!

GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results

Rosemary oil (100 percent solution) scalp massage every night.
Don't even bother checking until you have used it religiously every night for 3 months.
Or MiN New York haircare products are great, and they DO grow hair.
It works by suppressing the DHT that is attacking each hair follicle.
Any regimen that works IE: Nioxin or MiN must be used consistently to be effective. Hair loss is a chronic condition that can't really be "fixed" , if it is not the by-product of illness, disease, chemo, etc; but it can be treated.

sometimes it's hereditary, sometimes from hormonal changes from having a baby, could be skin disease of some sort, could be poor diet Set an appointment and talk with your dermatologist. They are doctors and can advise you what options you have to solve this. I know some heart medications grow hair, I know there are wigs or different ways you can style your hair, and if it gets worse you can get plugs. But it's probably just that you have a hormonal imbalance (a blood test can tell you) or need some vitamins/minerals. Every 7 years the body changes and you could be just noticing your hair's thinking prior to it growing new hair.

do not listen to any advice telling you something can prevent this thinning of the hair!
There is nothing that can be done to prevent it but you can change the appearance to make it seem much thicker and oils sprays mouse and gel all give you a thicker appearance but not stop thinning that naturally occurs in hair due to genes!
