The basis of science is not doubt: it is constructing logical conclusions upon empirical evidence. Science is about wanting to know the answers: religion is about making up answers and attempting to frighten people into believing them.

Science makes certain assumptions, like the reliability of the senses. Doubt attacks science, too (e.g. Hume's critique). See the social constructivist arguments against science.
Note that Baconian science, was developed out of a Christian metaphysics, which became the scientific method.
Religion is not necessarily based on faith alone. It requires a certain body of experience and intellectual satisfaction to sustain difficult questions and events, like any world view.

Why do you believe the basis of Science is doubt? The basis of Science is the drive to discover and verify without bias fact/truth.
Kinda sounds like the basis of spirituality./

Faith is not the basis of all religions -- only Christianity. Judaism has traditionally evolved right along with science. It's not the Jews who have a problem with evolution!

I don't see science & religion as incompatible.
Christianity believes the universe is governed by God's law (not only moral law but natural law as well). Science triumphs over witchcraft because Western world (where Christianity is the dominating culture) seek to understand phenomenum as observable, interelated patterns.
Confusion and conflict comes only when science try to limit and dissect God within the frameworks it developed.

People try to make religion and Science incompatible, but this is false. True religion and true science are the same thing. The problem is that there is a lot of false religion and false science in the world.

Academia has brainwashed the culture and the empty students into believing man is a primitive creature and the dinosaurs lived ages before him. This is the result of pseudo science and theories of evolution being taught as near fact in schools.

Actually the basis for faith is doubt. It is a known doubt that we can not make it on our own.
If we try to make it on our own we will surely parish in hellfire.

A fairly accurate assesment.
Science asks "Why, how?"
Religion says "believe this or die"
