Sometimes they do come up with better stuff most of the time it's about making money just like the cars or any other product

The best way that I can answer this is with another question. Why do the auto makers come out with new cars every year. To me it just make sense to keep your company on the cutting edge with any kind of new technology that can better your chances to stay in front or ahead of the competition. As with golf and cars, there are quite a few companies after the consumers.

The same reason companies, musicians, foods, and the like constantly attempt to reinvent themselves - to make more money. If I make a driver that has the same distance as any other, but looks cool or has a more comfortable grip, it will sell. All to make more money.
