I think that you're right, basketball does have more running at least, than volleyball does.
It's simple math, you have to run up and down the court in basketball - in volleyball, you only have to play on your side of the net.
Also, in basketball, there is a lot of running routes, cutting, setting picks, fast breaks, things like that. You might have a "position" - but you could realistically end up anywhere on the court.
In volleyball you have a position - and true, you can shift from one position to another - but even then, you are basically staying in an area - not running all over the court.
A setter runs more than the other players on a team - but the better a team is - the less running around the setter would have to do.

Soccer, track, cross country.... and yes, volleyball might required more jumping than basketball but not more running... in basketball you run up and down the court and in volleyball, you only stay on your side of the court unless otherwise the ball is hit by one of your teammates outside and you try to rescue it. =)

The only time you have to run in volleyball is too the ball. the sport thgat requirs the most running would have to be track which is a sport for mostly running only

The answer to your question is Basketball. You have to run Up and down the court to get to the basket and outrun the defender in volleyball you stay inside a box and jump or dive.

That is completely wrong, for volleyball the court is smaller and you dont have to run from side to side, and follow the ball, but for basketball you have to be able to sprint, or run fast enough to get to the other side and help out your team. For volley ball you do need to have quick movements, but it doesnt invovle a lot of runnning.
They both invovle jumping though, but I think basketball involves more of that too.
