Young rape victim undergoes HIV treatment

A 5-year-old girl is undergoing treatment for possible HIV infection
after the man charged with raping her -- an illegal alien who was
previously deported to Mexico -- admitted he has the virus,
authorities said.
The case has re-energized some state lawmakers to push for tougher penalties for people who commit sex crimes and knowingly expose their victims to HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
Julio Cesar Cruz Martinez, 32, of Fairhope is being held in a
segregated unit at the Baldwin County Corrections Center on charges of first-degree rape, sexual abuse and sodomy, a jail official said Wednesday.
Police said Martinez has confessed to some of the acts involving the girl and to knowing he had HIV before the crime reportedly occurred Sept. 13.

Officers notified the family immediately after Martinez disclosed his infection, sheriff's spokesman Lt. John Murphy said.
"The child has been taken to medical services, where she has been tested and is being given treatment to reduce the risk of the HIV virus," Murphy said Wednesday.
HIV is a virus that destroys the body's ability to fight off illness and is the cause of AIDS. People infected with the virus do not have AIDS until they develop serious symptoms, but they are capable of
transmitting the virus through sexual intercourse, according to the AIDS.org Web site.
Martinez has undergone HIV testing at the corrections center to confirm whether he has the virus, Murphy said. The lab results are pending and may not be released publicly, he said.
Deputies had questioned Martinez's identity, since he did not provide valid identification.

Temple Black, spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said Wednesday that Martinez is an illegal alien who has been deported to Mexico at least once. The department placed an
administrative hold on Martinez -- requiring him to remain jailed -- after identifying him by photo and fingerprints, Temple said.

They should give him a fair trial and then upon being found guilty give condoms to the whole population of the prison so they can rape him and then put him to death by hanging him.

The same thing that I believe any child rapist should have done to them.CASTRATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION! no questions about it.just do it and no trial no nothing.I hate the fact that many actually try to play the "i'm sick and cant control myself" excuse.whatever everyone has urges yet they contain themselves.that's no exuse.Btw many we already got the idea that some illegals are criminals who committ henious crimes.but yet again every country has them. What about that guy who held that 13yr old girl hostage in that underground bunker for weeks, while he repeatedly raped her.So yeah the legal status has nothing to do with the crime, the punishment though should be the same for everyone.

He should sit in a jail cell in solitary confinement with a splintery broomstick continually shoved up his bum for the rest of his sick, sad disgusting life...
Actually, that might be too nice... sorry, I'm a mother and if anyone did that to my child, there would be no penalty harsh enough. Death is too easy, but is letting him live justified as well?

First you give him a fair trial to make sure that he did it, then get the results for the HIV test, then if he really is guilty, then he should be put in prison here in the US for life.

The same thing that Lorena Bobbit did to her husband, John Wayne Bobbit.
If you're not familiar with the case, do a web search for "bobbit".

To much drama and BS people. Take him to the border kneel him down and shoot him in the back of the head and walk away from the corpse. And do the same with any others that follow his lead.

Kill him...
Seriously, rapists and child molesters shouldn't be castrated, for they will express their frustration of innability through murder and torture.
Rapists and child molesters should be either painfully killed over a long (painful) period of time, or shipped to a hardcore prison where they will be treated with the "deserved" "respect" human scum like they are entitled to...
But if it were up to me, I'd vivisect the sick bastgard, torture him, and finally kill him ever so slowly so that he wouldn't harm anyone else.
Cheers

5 more arrests made in 1979 killing of hotel clerk
Associated Press
Sept. 21, 2006 07:05 AM
HOLLAND, Mich. - For more than a quarter century, the brutal sex slaying of Hope College student and hotel clerk Janet Chandler baffled law enforcement officials.
As the case grew colder with each passing year, it became less likely that whoever was responsible would be brought to justice.
Then, a few years ago, a film class at Hope produced a documentary about the unsolved mystery that sparked new interest in the case. After the film aired on a Grand Rapids television station in January 2004, investigators started getting tips again. advertisement
Following up on the new information, they arrested Robert Lynch, 66, of Three Oaks, in February of this year and charged him in connection with the 1979 homicide.
Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox announced Wednesday that five more arrests had been made, including four men and a woman who was the victim's roommate and boss. They were taken into custody Monday and Tuesday in Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
"It has always been the mission of all parties involved in this investigation to ensure that the family of Janet Chandler sees justice. That day is now coming closer," Cox said during a news conference.
The five men, including Lynch, were working as security guards for the same company at the time of the killing and were in Holland because they were on assignment at a local labor strike.
The victim's parents, James and Glenna Chandler, of Muskegon, attended the news conference but declined to speak to reporters.
Authorities said Janet Chandler was working her job as a clerk at the Blue Mill Inn on Jan. 31, 1979, when she was kidnapped by the six suspects and taken to a house where she was beaten, raped and strangled.
A snowplow driver discovered her body a day later about 35 miles south of Holland in a wooded turnaround on Interstate 196.
Cox identified those arrested this week as: James Cleophas "Bubba" Nelson, 59, of Rand, W.Va.; Arthur Carlton "Carl" Paiva, 54, of Muskegon; Freddie Bass Parker, 49, of Powellton, W.Va.; Laurie Ann Swank, 48, of Nescopeck, Pa.; and Anthony Eugene Williams, 55, of Boscobel, Wis.
Parker's sister Annette Bennett said her brother had left Michigan a day or two before Chandler was killed and was in West Virginia when it happened.
"My brother is innocent. My brother would not hurt a flea," said Bennett, 41, of Belle, W.Va.
Nelson's attorney, public defender Ronni Sheets, said she had not met with him and had no comment. Attempts to reach the other suspects' attorneys or relatives for comment were unsuccessful.
Holland police Chief John A. Kruithoff said all five were taken into custody in their hometowns. Like Lynch, the five new suspects were arrested on warrants charging each of them with three counts of first-degree murder.
Each person is charged with premeditated murder and committing a murder during the commission of two other felonies, which in this case included kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct.
While authorities declined to rule out the possibility of more arrests, Kruithoff said they were "confident we have identified those responsible for Janet's death."
