The choice is up to you. Don't feel like you have to be like all the other moms out there who worked until they delivered.
I took off the last month. 1) I was dreading going in everyday and very tired, 2) I wanted to make sure everything was perfect, the nursery, house, all my sons laundry was done etc. and 3) I wanted to have some time off to myself because I knew as soon as we came home w/ our son I wouldn't have another moment alone for awhile.
I don't regret doing it the way I did.
Good Luck

Myself and everyone I've worked with over the years ALL worked the full 9 months, even those with other children at home.
I think it's fine (and even healthy) for the woman to do so...as long as she doesn't have any complications with her pregnancy.
Other than that - I have not heard of anyone in well over 15 years that quits work before her due date - that's a thing of the past...However, if you have the ability to quit (with pay)..and you feel you want to - by all means do so. Many states allow for that.
To each their own..everyone is different.

I was told by my doc to stop working on Oct 3 had the baby on Oct 23. the other 2 i wasn't working. I was at that time working at a bank and the week before i stopped working there was a teller who's water had broke behind the teller line so it just depends on you and your dr. Sounds like your tired and ready to stop, if you can, stop. Most dr will give you a note if you request one at this stage..
Happy Baby

The state of NJ allows pregnant women with no complications to be excused from work at 36 weeks. You get paid thru the state for this time off. So i was out of work at 36 weeks as my job was working with young children i was exhausted. If you're ready to be home, talk to your doctor about it and work out a plan.

I delivered December 30th I left work on December 28th.
It just depends on the type of work you do and what your body allows you to do.
I have seen alot of women use the pregnancy as an excuse to be out right lazy too.

I stopped at my 12 th week as I was a flight attendant and wasn't allowed to after that period.
As long as you feel unable, you should stop. As the more stress you have, the baby would feel it too. It has been documented that the mother might suffer a difficult delivery and the baby might be more fussy than most other.
Good Luck and God Bless.
Peace.

1st child-worked until the week before he was born. 2nd child-worked the day she was born. If I would have had the opportunity to take more time off before they were born, I sure would have! I didn't get maternity leave or vacation time while I was on leave so I worked as long as I could. Take advantate of it! Take the time off, put your feet up and relax!!

I was in labor when I quit working. I finished my shift at the hospital and just went up to the L&D, and then delivered within 2 hours.
