It depends on what shape you are in, how hot it is outside, how old you are and how you are dressed. 3 blocks is a safe walking distance for out of shape or elderly. If you are dressed like a hoochie...your feet may hurt sooner. Drink before you leave for the bar so it won't be so bad.

I'd say for a pub walking distance is 1/2 mile or less...

1/2 hour jaunt to the pub is fine. Bit of exercise and fresh air on the way home. Only in fine weather though. If the weather is foul 1 block or less.

walking distance to the pub is not important, walking distance from the pub is often of critical importance.
I would say under a half mile , less than10 minutes

walking distance is about a mile, anything over that is kind of taking the piss and some sort of transport would be needed.
