I keep being told he loves everyone and etc....., yet people and that little book allegedly being his word, tell me that if I don't worship him he'll send me to a fiery place where I'll go through pain, suffering, and torture for all eternity?

How is this loving? Why should I want to worship such a mean, cruel, and downright monsterous alleged god?

It seems like you Christians are just making excuses.

God was invented in man's image which guarantees there will be cruelty.

goodness, love and mercy are aspects of God's nature.. definitely... Hesed, loyal loving kindness... Agape a deep love... God in fact commands believers in Micah to LOVE MERCY not just do mercy and in the parables of Jesus God is pictured as a father or king with a compassionate heart

BUT

God is not ONLY those things... He is more... he is concerned for Justice and although patient and longsuffering he offers mercy but the time can come when the offers of mercy are scoffed at or ignored and then a person can experience God's wrath

Jesus in fact reserved his toughest workds for religious hypocrits interesting ly enough... and God cares about what we are on the inside perhaps even more than what we do which is only the iceburg of what we are

but He does care and will judge
he first offeres mercy

God is love. He loves every one of his spirit children (who we are). But, he will not force anyone to go to Heaven. How can we expect to go to Heaven if we disobey God's laws? He gives us the freedom of choice. The only thing that God does not have is our free will. He will not take it. We can give it to him if we choose to. If we do something wrong, he gives us the opportunity to repent, so we can be forgiven. If you want to know about God, you should talk with people who truly know him. Give him a chance.

If you want to know about a car's engine, you wouldn't go to a dentist. It sounds like you're asking the wrong people. Ask someone who knows. Ask a Christian. who practices his beliefs. Better yet, ask God himself with sincerity and he will answer you. No doubt, you've heard that God works in strange ways, often through another person. So, his answer just might come in a strange and unexpected way! Keep your heart open. It's good that you asked because it shows that you truly want to know.

He became a man, allowed himself to be humiliated, tortured and murdered so that you would have the means of escaping that eternal fate. If that isn't loving, what is? If you choose to go there in spite of His offering you a way out, how does that make Him any less loving??

Dear Soul...

It seems as though you have been deceived by the father of lies. Open your heart and then...open the Holy Bible to the New Testament and begin reading the book of John. Find the truth for yourself.

God loves you so much, He sent His only Son to die on the cross for you...and me.

You have choices in life. God has given you free will to make your choices.

May you find the grace of the living God and His Son Jesus.

The same reason that the worms are there for the birds to eat.

God is a marriage of Love and Wisdom.

1 need to know, as much God is love, He is also God of justice & intregrity & He is also the law giver. He has make the law these way & like a judge He can't compromise on His law, can't break His promises & ruin His intregrity. u think it doesn't hurt Him to see the precious sons & daughters go to hell. like any other human judge he has to uphold the law even it if sending his flesh & blood to the slammer.

God is loving, he tells us not to judge as that is his job. A lot of Christians seem to want to take over for God. His judgments are just, good people of all faiths have nothing to fear.

God must do something with the unbeliever. He has elected to send them to a place call hell. He made the rules, not me. If I were you I would get with his program and go to heaven. Now that you know what the consequences for staying in sin are, isn't it wisdom to look to Jesus for help? He is the way out of your dilemma. Jesus loves you and wants you in his kingdom, but God will not allow sin into heaven. This is why you must be forgiven your sin nature and be washed in the blood of Jesus. Satan wants to destroy you, but Jesus wants to save you. This is love from God.

Well, go ahead and judge God then. Beings more intelligent don't question the goodness and justice of God.

I think your concept of hell and its design are tainted. Read about it before judging God.

Ignore the people claiming to speak on the biblegod's behalf. Let him speak to you personally, if he has something to say. What, do you think an infinitely powerful being who exists beyond time and space couldn't spare FIVE MINUTES to tell you what he wants from you, if your love and devotion are really THAT important to him?
