I just wonder if they just want the milk free without buying the cow and will say anything to make this so. And I wonder if they just want someone around just until someone better comes along.
Really, it just blows me away that women are okay with this arrangement.

Men traditionally will do anything to avoid commitment.

Having a live-in girlfriend is all the benefits of a marriage without any of that messy committing, wedding ceremony, etc.

Also it gives a man a fantastic back-door.

"Well, c'mon honey, it's not like we're married."

I've lived with a man for 7 years almost. And yes, they want the milk free without buying the cow. He says he will never marry again and then he will say we can marry when my kids are grown and out of the house. (they are 12 and 9) He points out that we have nothing to gain by getting married...to many options available for single parents..blah blah blah. Whatever...I'm still the beneficiary of his life insurance policy so that's pretty much all I care about at the moment.

Well, I can't speak for all men, but mine isn't anything like what you've described. We split the bills, chores, and he's taken my daughter in as his own. If you didn't know any better, you'd think he was her daddy. He's a wonderful man with a positive outlook on life. We're here for only a short amount of time and we cherish every second we're together.

I'm not okay with an arrangement like that. I live with my bf but only because i do have intentions one day to marry him. No, he hasnt' asked me yet, but i know he will. I hope that guys don't ask us to move in jsut so they can get what they want, plus have their house cleaned and their clothes washed. This is a good question.

There are a lot of men out there like that. But you can't say it in generalization that all men with live-in GF are like that. There are many that are, but there are many that truely feel that its the next step in the relationship and then comes marriage. There are all kinds of people out there, but you can never generalize all men together.
