If you want to know how much memory you have, just press the following keys on your keyboard:
Windows Logo Key + Pause Break
It will display the System Properties window. Your memory summary is at the bottom of that window by the word RAM.

There are 2 types of "memory" on a computer. One is the space left on your hard drive, and the other is your RAM.
To check the space on your hard drive using Windows XP:
1) Click "Start" in the lower left side of your screen.
2) Select "My Computer" by left clicking on it.
3) Right click on your C: drive, a menu should pop up.
4) Select "Properties" by left clicking on it.
5) It should show you a nice pie chart of how much hard drive space you've used and how much you have remaining.
To check your RAM:
1) Click "Start" in the lower left side of your screen
2) Select "My Computer" by left clicking on it.
3) On the left side under "Other Places" click on "Control Panel"
4) Select "Performance and Maintenance"
5) Select "System"
6) A window titled "System Properties" should pop up. Under the "General" tab you should see your RAM towards the bottom.
Hope this helps.
