To look at the situation through the customers eyes so you can see how to help them better. I have used this method and made suggestions to companies I was contracted to so they could save money, time, and look out for safety these things are always appreciated even if they do not implement your idea it shows you are a Proactive person and like to help, and that is what corporations want Proactive people (thinking outside the box and into the future) not reactive (oh my what do I do now?) Be proactive, polite, and look at situations as if you were the customer.

The goal is to satisfy the customer. A satisfied customer is likely to do business with the company again and maybe put in a good word for the company so that more people would do business with it.

If the customer is not satisfied you have less business, which means less jobs (maybe you'd lose yours) and if really a lot of customers are not satisfied the company can end up out of business. Good customer service is very important for the company.

You need to know the requirements of you customer. Answering the phone in the correct manner. Replying to questions from the customer in a helpful knowledgeable manner. There are loads of things I could list but your question is not specific enough. What business does it relate to? If you want to tell me more-email me and I can help but this is just not specific enough. Whatever happens you need to create an environmeant which has given your customers a satisfactory experience. You want them to return. Put yourself in their position. What would you want?
