God is imaginary, is there a larger form of ignorance than that? It's like the freaking plague.

I think that there is an obvious difference between this Pope and Pope Joan Paul, who was indeed a man with spirit, and a true leader for the Catholics. I am an orthodox, and still when he died, I felt as if someone close to me had passed away, because he was such a great man. This guy (Benedict) shouldn't really be in the position he is in, I said it the moment he became Pope, I knew things would be nasty. I think the answer lies in his inability to adapt to the current world situation, rather than ignorance. He surely must know about muslims, but he lacks any sort of diplomatic abilities. He's not a spiritual leader, he's a bookworm.

Is the pope ignorant? No!
Howver u have ur information mixed up
First of all no the pope is not ignorant he was quoting someone they may not have been his own beliefs, so for that reason i say no the pope isn't ignorant, but he should have said whether he agreed or disagreed when he quoted it.
Now. Muslims spread the word of their religon by killing people? uh no they didn't! seriously the prophet muhammed (saw) was not violent he even helped people who were not apart of his religon, so islam definatley was not spread by killing or any other type of violance, today yes many so cold muslims are violent but islam is not! Also what about saladin during the crusades? He was very compasionat, when he took over jerusalem and told the christians for 1 coin (cant remember the currency) he would free on person yet all they were worried about was getting their money so they took their money and left their people however saladin still set them free!

Pope is not Ignorant. He read a 14 th century book and recited something from it. The muslim leaders are ignorant and they donot know how to answer it with proof or enter a logical discussion , hence they become violent
A fat man will become angry if you call him FAT
A slim person will smile at you if you call him fat and will give some evidence , like height, wieght, phots to prove that he is not fat. Got it now???

Everything the Pope says is open to scrutiny and interpretation. In spite of that, he still trys to carry on. Better he than me.
