Sure can, i had dead straight hair when I was younger and the older i get the curlier it gets. Same thing happened to my sisters too!

yes it happens. the genetic makeup for hair appearence is inside the hair follicles. if she used a lot of hair chemicals (bad shampoo, hair color), she may have altered the hair dna
