An alternative IRC which is accessed through a normal, or public, chat area. Its access is limited, and it is usually used for private conversations. But be warned: unless you are behind a sophisticated firewall, little on the net is truly private.


The Undernet is one of the largest IRC networks. It was established in October 1992 as an experimental network running a modified version of the EFnet irc2.7 IRC server software, created in an attempt to make it less bandwidth consumptive and less chaotic, as netsplits and takeovers were starting to plague EFnet.

Wasnt IRC a chat messenger like yahoo messenger? If so I think I use to have one when I was a teenager it looked liked a flower =-)
