I am about 260 and I want to loose about 100 pounds but I dont have a lot of time for exercize and I am not a dieting person I just want to change eating habbits and loose weight. Dont even reply for stupid I want real people with methods that worked for them.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

There are several other tips, too, but the ones I've listed are the ones that worked for me. You have to take these one at a time, otherwise, it won't work. Good luck.
* Eat breakfast. Whatever you want, cereal, pancakes, sausages, etc.
* Drink a tall cold glass of water before every meal and after every meal.
* Cut out the "white" breads, and instead choose the whole grain or wheat bread.
* Eat more lean meat (fish, chicken.) Eat that chicken in the chicken sandwich, just don't eat the bread part of it.
* Eat 4-6 servings of vegetables and 4-6 servings of fruit daily.
* Cut down the junk food intake either completely or by half. In other words, if you usually buy a hamburger at a fast food joint, buy only the kiddie sized hamburger.
* Cut out all pop, no matter what, no compromise! and drink water instead.
* Since you say you don't have time for exercise, move more often. Make a conscious effort to park very far. Take the stairs. Do something while commercials are on t.v.
* If you have the will power, completely cut off all sugary foods and fried foods. Instead, eat fruit. If you don't have the will power, then eat this stuff once a week.
* Take a multi-vitamin daily.

Also, you said you want to lose 100 lbs. Changing the way you eat will help you lose up to 50 lbs, but eventually, you'll have exercise. YOUR METABOLISM WILL GET USED TO YOUR NEW EATING HABITS AND THEN SLOW DOWN ACCORDINGLY. After about 3 months into eating better, try to do cardio at least 3-6 times a week for an hour a day.

Hi all, I'm a 29 year old male and have struggled with weight control all of my life. I'm 5'10" and weigh 220 lbs. (Obesity Class I). Three years ago I worked very hard to fix this problem. I kept a food diary, calculating my calories every day, and I started walking 3-4 miles (that's only 1 hour over lunch) almost every day. Over 5 months I lost 60 lbs and felt great. It's really a great feeling when you get a new pair of pants and look at how small they are you think "I'll never fit into those" and then you actually do and with room to spare. (I know, I'm a guy and you wouldn't think a guy would care about things like clothing sizes, but it really is cool for us too, even if we seldom admit it.) Unfortunately, since then I've regained the weight (due to many issues that arose in my personal life). So I'm starting over and that's what brings me to this site. After looking at things and reading some of the other postings, I wanted to share some of my thoughts and observations from my experience in the hopes that it will help others out there. - First, this site is great. The calculators are so helpful and make it so easy. I had to do all of my stuff by hand and trying to keep up with that was a real problem for me, especially after I'd reached my goals. - Second, don't stop counting the calories once you've reached your goals. As you lose the weight, your appetite will likely shift and change so that you can't eat as much anyway. But for me, with large family meals or holidays, my appetite slowly returned and I wasn't counting the calories so I didn't notice until it was too late. - Third, most people have already said this, but it is vitally important that you not only diet and count calories, but that you also exercise. The body has a natural tendency to slow down the metabolism when it doesn't get as much food and will start to store the food as fat. By exercising and keeping active, you prevent this from happening and will burn the food that you eat and not store it. - Fourth, and the biggest point I want to make, DON'T WAIT. When I lost that weight 3 years ago it wasn't that hard, once I started doing the right things. Now, I'm only three years older and the same amount of effort I tried before has only half the effect. The older you get the more your body resists any changes that you want to make. For those of you out here who are still teenagers, do it now, you'll want to be thinner in another few years for prom or whatever anyway. If you're in your 30's or older like me, start today, it will only be harder tomorrow. As for me, I've pulled out my old food diary and will start using this site for my calculations. I've started walking again, and even jogging a little. I've also decided I wanted to actually build some muscles for once, I'd like to be able to take my shirt off at the pool or whatever and not feel embarrassed, so I've started an aerobic weight-lifting program too. Hopefully by Christmas I'll be back on the healthy side of things again, this time forever. Hope my words are helpful and good luck to you all

I know that you say you don't have time for exercise, but losing weight takes dedicated and hard work when you want to lose large amounts. Even something as simple as walking for 10 minutes 3 times a week at night or in the morning (or when you have time) can work. As for eating habits, if you don't want a drastic change to where you can't have any sugar or anything, than don't do that if it doesn't fit your lifestyle. Just try to cut back on the things you KNOW are bad for you, like fast food and deserts. I previously lost about 20-25 pounds by using the treadmill at least 2 times a week and worked up to doing it for a longer period and more times a week. I also changed and watched what I ate, and the weight started to melt off.
I have heard that the Special K diet works (where you replace 2 meals a day with Special K cereal). You could try that if you want to!

From a person who is constantly talking to people about whats worked for them and doing my own thing, the only thing I've come to realize is you have to make it work for you..You have to Exercises even if it's 30min three times a week I think you should do it more like five but you need to start out slow, do fun things like dancing or take some class you like , I personally sometimes wake up at 4 am to get a workout in, What you eat is the number one thing that will make you lose weight, trust me I know this. It really is a life style change. You will feel so much better, and once you have a good day you'll want to have another one & another one. And if you go lose track one day pick it right back up the next day. You are really going to have to want it, that is the only way it will work. I don't believe in diets or weight lose programs, you have to repogram yourself.

No sugar, no flour, potatoes or white rice. I buy the flourless bread (Trader Joe's) but eat it very rarely. You can have corn tortillas, beans, vegetables, fruit, lean meats, cheese, salads. Good carbs only. You still need to watch how much you eat, calorie-wise. Lots of water too. If you don't have time for a lot of excercise, at least walk every day (minimum 30 minutes) and use free weights 3 times a week. Muscle helps to burn fat quicker. Check with your doctor, you may be insulin resistant. I dieted and exercised extremely hard and couldn't lose any weight. When I started taking Glucophage (Metmorfin), the weight started coming off. You don't have to be diabetic to take this, and it helps to lower your blood pressure and cholesterol. Not to mention, it really helps reduce your appetite.

Balanced, controlled eating of foods from each food group, emphasizing vegetables and fruits, staying away from fatty foods or anything containing too much refined sugar. That, coupled with moderate exercise, is THE ONLY method of weight loss that will truly work, won't harm your body and will have permanent results. If anyone tells you any different, they do not care about your health and are only latching onto the latest fad diet, which will get you nowhere and make you feel like a failure.

Don't get overly concerned about your weight. Think more about being healthy and looking good. The bad news it that you have to eat right and do some exercise for healthy and long term weight loss. The good news is that you don't need to kill yourself doing it.

Diet is extremely important. To slim your body you must:

Burn more calories than you eat.

Cut your fat intake.

Eat three cups of fat free low cal yogurt a day (make sure it has live cultures in it) and pineapples. This helps you break down your food.

Do 30-45 min. of aerobic exercise 3-5 times a week (preferably before you eat in the morning). This will attack the fat.

Do 20 min of weight training three times a week. This will build lean muscle which will in turn burn fat.

I lost 40 lbs in two months and have kept it off for two more months doing this. I also took my body fat % from 30% to 14%

I was 205.... Now 196. In 2 weeks. 5'8 tall
I have a daughter and work, single parent, and eat junk food.
Don't have time either.

What i'm doing? Excercise only 30 mins a day, but really hard. And substituting one meal (even if I eat late at night) with fruits that I like... such as green apples, bananas. Always with 8oz. of natural lemon juice with a tbs. of sugar.

Oh! and no more than 3 slices of pizza a month.
Plus no excuses like: I can eat the fourth slice because I walked 30 mins.... He,he
