Science is a method, not a faith. I am very critical of those who are entirely based in science, but I am also critical of those who dismiss it. Science is a good way to comprehend nature. There is ample proof that the scientific method is sound. Just look at your computer screen right now, and that is the product of scientific progress. Science's best explanation right now is that we evolved from primates. That doesn't refute Genesis unless you choose that interpretation. There are no religious implications to any scientific discovery or observation unless you choose to impose this interpretation.

This is an Excellent question! Here ya go... You can believe whatever you want to, belief doesn't equal truth. Nobody ever said "i want to believe i share a common ancestry with monkeys" nobody even really thought to link our species with other primates. Evidence was found that showed us that this is how it happened.
Sure, it may be more rewarding emotionally to have been created for a specific purpose, but since when does the answer that makes you the happiest always equal the correct answer? I would be happier not paying my bills every month, I'd have a lot more money to do things i want... does that mean i shouldn't pay my bills? Would that be the right thing to do? Not the best analogy but you see what I'm getting at.
If you wish to ignore reality, it's up to you but this will not change reality. There is evidence for evolution and none for creation.

Why do you feel that you need a starting point in order to live a full and rewarding life any how ? And if you were created for a purpose that you are predestined to do how much reward should you get from doing that which you were made to do as apposed to doing something outside of your programing by your own efforts ? A car is made it drives from point a to b that is all it can do. Do you give it a big pat on the back when it dose that ?

For the 180,000th time, we believe monkeys and humans both evolved from the same common ancestor.
Why do we need someone else to give us a purpose. Especially if that purpose is just to serve that creator? Why can't you simply give your own life purpose?

I do not have 'faith' in evolution. I see the proof of it every day.
I did not evolve from a monkey. Monkeys, apes, and humans evolved from a modern ancestor.
My life is rewarding and fulfilling because I bring meaning and purpose to my life, not any sort of deity.
I do not know in evolution because I want to, I know because the facts are testible, have been tested, and show evolution to be true.

I'd rather say I evolved from a monkey generations and generations ago than claim I was made from dirt.
Evolution doesn't take faith. It's a scientific theory. It can be believed alongside a religion, or with no religion at all, same as the theory of gravity.
And who's to say that descendants of monkeys, and even the monkeys themselves, don't have a purpose?

Well, for one, Indisputable proof exists that our species is, without question, a derivative of the dna shared by our simian cousins. You may not want to believe it... maybe this will help. You can still believe that God did all the intellectual work like, determining how those four code amino acids could be turned into a language and instruction set that we are just now beginning to decode and understand it. And the concept of "On the first day God did this... then on the 2nd day God did something else." Notice that the concept of days used doesn't have to be our 24 hour day, calculated from our planet's rotation. Believe it. Evolution was God's way of "tweeking" his creations.

Why would you want to be created from dirt????
for the last time - we are NOT descended from monkeys! You beleivers really need to educate yourselves.... Do you even know the difference between monkeys and apes? I HIGHLY doubt this.....Ive got $50 that says you dont know the difference. Which also means that you have no concept of how evolution works. We shared a common ancestor - both apes and man descended from one common ancestor that was neither an ape nor human.
Try educatting yourself before asking dumb questions.... Why does one need hope to live? Is not the fact that you are ALIVE enough of a purpose to keeep on living? It is so sad and pathetic that you feel the need to worship something in order to feel alive.

Wouldn't it be nice if people in the World Trade Centre could have clicked their heels three times, said "There's no place like home," and been whisked away before the towers collapsed. It's no more fanciful than your fairy tale.
Evolution does not require filth - oops, faith. It requires a brain to recognize and comprehend facts. Religion requires and demands wilful ignorance and voluntary stupidity.
If _you_ lack the moral and intellectual courage to accept the fact of evolution, which is a result of the scientific method, then why don't you stop using any benefit of the scientific method? (For example, cars, computers, the internet, medicine, TV, radio, printed books, plastics, man-made materials, etc.)
The fact is, you're a typical hypochristian coward who doesn't want to take responsibility for the benefits of science that you like and enjoy.

Why bother believing there is gravity that keeps up bound to earth when it would be so much more rewarding to fly like Superman.
Evolution is fact. We are related to monkeys. If there is a supernatural (which I am not saying there isn't) then it doesn't have anything to do with evolution.
