Father is normally only used by the Catholic (and some Orthodox) churches Priest is an office, and not normally a title used to address a person. Someone is a priest, but you would not say, "Hey, Priest...." Preacher is an informal name for a person who preaches Pastor comes from the Greek word in the New Testament "pastor". It literally means "shepherd", but is used in the NT as a title for people who are in charge of a local church. It has been "transliterated" into English as "Pastor". So they are all just different titles for the same person or position.

Pastor Or Preacher

I think everyone pretty much has it right. Let's confuse things a little. I think some Protestant denominations also use the term "Father". The Priest in charge of a parish is known as "The Pastor". Therefore some, but not all, Priests are Pastors. Some, but not all, Pastors are Priests.

Clear as mud?

A priest as I understand it is used with Catholics but are often called father, as a preacher is often referred as a pastor there's no real science to it its pretty much what each church most commonly reffers to they're minister. I guess the most proper name would be teacher. Alot of people really overthink what to call them but teacher or a minister would be a more correct term as they are both regardless of title
