That is a hard decision to have to make. But if your mom is threatening, or causing problems in your household then it is time for her to move on. I had to do the same thing with my father. He was abusing the house rules by drinking and making huge messes and having party's at my house. I hated doing it, but he would not respect my rules. I suggest you sit your mom down, and make rules. But if she does not follow them, then it is your house. It sucks but you have to protect your family. Good Luck.

Well, If there isn't any king of abuse (psycological, physical...), you should document it before you get her out. Just in case.
Try to find out why she's making such serious threats.

Spend additional time with your kids, whenever you have the time, so you make a fill a file with activities and what a great parent you are. Talk to a lawyer, dedicated to family law.
And get her OUT as soon as possible.

Just so you now, the custody usually goes first to the mother, then the father; by natural law; then grandparents (on the mothers side), the fathers side, then aunts, then uncles.

You did the right thing. You have to draw the line somewhere and to be a good parent yourself you can't have even your own mom compromising your sanity!! In order to raise your family to be happy and mentally sound you need to have some stress relieved and that won't happen if she's pointing out everything she believes to be a flaw. They are your kids and she is just trying to impose that her ways are better. This will probably in time make your relationship better. Hard to see that now but in time if she wants to be a part of your lives she'll wise up! GOOD LUCK!!

If it is your home, and she is doing things to disrupt your family, then you have every right to tell her to leave. I would not hesitate! Your children are living in an environment where they see their parents being accused of not taking care of them or taking care of them wrongly. How can this be good for them?

Once she started accusing you of abusing your children, the fact that she is your mother was no longer a bargaining chip. If she is not going to respect you, your home, your family and your parenting styles, then it's time for her to go and that would apply no matter what familial relationship she has to you.

No, when you had children your responsibility became your children. If you do not have a good relationship with your mother she does not need to be around.

No. She is risking you losing your children, losing your job, and worse. Get a court ordered eviction notice so she can't come back and sue.

NO, you did the right thing. She needs to butt out and i'd tell her if she can't just come and visit and keep her opinion to herself, she will not be allowed to come anymore.
