this is a comonly asked question and one which you need to be very wary about.
It could very well be that youre pet african parrot is in fact a new C.I.A device which does in fact house hidden cameras and recording equipment.
These were originally made in the mid 1990's and many found their way to former eastern block countrys and to middle eastern arab states.
My advice would be to take " dave " to a vet and get them to give it a check up from the neck up.....just to make sure of course !!!

I have 4 birds in my house, Bandit a blue and gold macaw who when it appears to want to swear, he mutters under his breath. Smokey who is to polite to say bad words, but tells his mum "I love you" and then bites her. Then there's Josie, only had this for a week and it's just a baby so can't talk yet. Finally there's Lan she is a Chinese bird, a bit of a pain in the ****, had her for 15 years, when I got her she could hardly speak a word of English, but now could swear for Britain. Fortunatel;y they all keep their mouths shut when anyone comes to the house so perhaps I am lucky.
Being a builder for half a century, please may I suggest Pollyfiller as an answer to your problem. You must mix it in Dave's bowl with a small amount of fresh water tell him it is good for him and will set him up for the day.

Stop swearing around him, and teach him good words. Reward him when he says the good words and ignore him when he says the bad words. African Greys are really smart and can learn hundreds of words so the fact he swears all the times says that whoever he is around (or was around) swears too much.

You and the people around you, need to stop swearing....
where else would it of come from...you might as well forget it, parrot's never forget...but he is never to old to learn new words..
try teaching something else, and do not react to his swearing...
they seem to think it's a game because you get excited..
good luck..(your gonna need it)

You might stop teaching Dave those swear words. Once he fails to hear them for a very long time, maybe he will stop saying them. LOL.

parrots only repeat what they hear. If your bird is swearing it's because it hears you doing so. Stop swearing and your bird will eventually forget the foul words you have taught it.

Teach him some other words. The larger his vocabularly, chances are the less he'll say any given word, which includes the swear words.
