people believe they way they do based on certain information given them. any person needs to be willing and able to examine opposing viewpoints and change their ideas if they can be convinced the other person is right and they are wrong. each of us believes a certain way at the present time. but information received later may prove what one believes to be true now is wrong so then the person needs to be willing and able to change their viewpoint based upon the information just obtained.
