I lost a flask of whiskey one time and didn't find it for about 3 weeks. When we did disover it, my friend and I agreed to each take a shot of it. IT pretty mush tasted the same but had a really metallic aftertaste. No big surprise there, but noone became ill.

I don't know if it makes it toxic or not but the directions that came with my stainless steeel hip flask I got like a month ago says not to leave ANY liquid not just alcohol in it for over 3 days at a time. I'm sure if you left it in there for longer than a month that it would affect the taste and make it taste kind of metallicy but thats just my personal opinion and not a proven fact so...

Why on earth would you want to keep whisky in a hip-flask for that length of time?

Perfectly safe and should be enjoyable. One month in a stainless steel flask will have little or no discernible effect.

place chrome steel in a dishwasher and it comes out shining vibrant. in case you do not very own one with a bit of luck a pal does. although if there is exterior ornament to the hip flask your strategies are limited.

Besides aluminum, don't use pewter mugs either...they're toxic. Stainless steel should be fine. Don't worry, the metal won't hurt you - only the liquor!!!

Stainless steel won't be toxic. Don't try that with aluminum or you will poison yourself.
