Happy belated birthday! You are right, God is in control. What kind of work do you do? You might want to consider trying something new -- you would take a little of the financial stress off and also might even find a new career.

Congratulations on tackling the GED. You'll do fine - after 41 years of experience you shouldn't have a problem.

Your mother should qualify for all sorts of assistance to cover the costs of putting her in a home. Check with your local health department as a start for where to go to get her the help she needs. Don't be too proud to ask -- that's what the assistance is there for.

If you have a private landlord, rather than a corporation, you might want to see if he or she needs some help with property maintenance and repair -- if so they will most likely apply part of your labor to the back rent.

Since you asked for prayers, I am assuming that you have a home congregation where you regularly attend church. Talk to the pastor (minister or whatever). There may be business owners who attend church there and they may be willing to hire you and help you out.

There are tons of resources available to you if you are willing to help yourself, which your question indicates you are. When I was 20, my first child was born with severe mental and physical handicaps. The day he was born, the chaplain at the hospital told me "God won't give you anything to handle that you cannot handle with His help." 22 years later, that is still very true.

My family will pray for you, and if you want to email me I'll be glad to talk - hudsonms1963@yahoo.com

Best to all 5 of you!

sounds tough.. i can only imagine... it's going to ok though. i've been there, and i'm afraid of going there again one day. I've never been on your side, but I can tell you something from your children's point of view.

when i was younger my family was poor. I can remmber so far back. I remember when my mom got pregnant with my yonger brother. i already had two older brothers and cousin who lived with us. me and my new little brother were great friends. even though we all fought really me and al lof my brothers got along pretty good. sometimes my mom would have to search and get realyl creative with the food she put on the table.. times were tough

but here's the thing.. i had no idea! i had no idea we were poor and neither did any of my brothers. we were loved and that's all that really mattered.

i never knew how poor we were until now at the age of 23 i have my first child, no home because nothing is afordable so we live with whoever will take us. me and my husband are both trying to finis school and work to help pay bills.. credit cards, truck, and helping out with house bills where ever we stay... it's hard... then my parents told me about when i was younger and i look at where they are now. my dad is a well off man now. i may ave been poor in my youner years, but by highschool we certainly were not poor.

i look back at that and realize that not only is it ok but it's going to be ok if we jsut keep trying and keep pushing. i know that my daughter is happy because she smiles so much and i know that's all that really matters is the love we give to her.

Happy belated birthday & congrat's to you & you'r wife!!

Don't stress because then your wife may stress and obviously she doesn't need stress. Going back for your GED is great! It may actually help you find a better paying job, but look for another job(temp) until you get your GED. Your mother will be fine, I am sure she understand's and there @ the nursing home they will take good care of her and she will meet some new friend's in there as well.
Call your landlord and work out a payment plan before you get evicted...that's the LAST thing your family need's.
Good luck to you and your family!!

Happy Birthday! I will pray for you, your test and your family. May I suggest that you find a good and Godly man to vent to? Also, let your wife be your best friend and confidant. Hang onto the Lord. He has something for you in all of this. Are you in a good and solid church? If you haven't asked the pastor or elders or deacons for referrals for work, that might be a good place to start. I will pray.

I will pray for you and your family, but one must try to help them-self. The cost of your Internet connection would put a couple of meals on the table. And if you didn't have the Internet you could apply the time spent on line to looking for work. Times are hard and jobs are becoming more scarce everyday, but if one is willing to work they will find a job!
I am sorry if I seem critical but it just seems lately all I hear are complaints and tales of woe but seldom see them doing something to better their situation. I truly cannot see how having pen pals could be of any help to you other than to take up more of your time! I've included several websites for an on line source to aid in finding a job. Good luck to you and your family, and congrats on the new one. I'm not a heartless person, I love kids but as adults we have to be responsible and everything we do must be in their best interest. because Children truly do "Learn what they live"

That's right, God is in control and he won't give you anything you can't handle. Just believe in him and he doesn't come when you call but he is always on time. Just affirm to yourself that everything will be okay. Tell yourself that money comes easily and effortlessly everyday until you truly believe it and you'll be amazed at what will happen. When you worry you stop the very thing you want from coming to pass but when you reassure yourself daily things wil start to change.
