You've heard the phrase, "One bad apple spoils the whole crop."
Well, it applies to Christians.

Agree and I would say that while some questions show that some extreme Christians try to place God over other people, some people also try to shove their non-God ways onto Christians.
However, on a political scale, I would not want to live in a Christian nation as I prefer it to be a state that is seperated from religion.

This is a question I asked, very similar to this one, just the other day.
Problem is, I found, that people just love to sterotype. They get Jehova's witnesses knocking on their door, and then all of sudden, all Christians are extreme etc.
If you are a Christian then good for you, but be careful not to contradict what you are talking about! If you are not then even better, thanks for your concern, some people are just crazy, and unfortunately it is the minority that seems like the majority. Christians have unfortunately had to learn to live with this sort of abuse, whatever we do is wrong, even though most of the time we are just trying to help and be friendly. O well, thanks anyway!

I've been a Christian for most of my life. I never knew how much animosity there is out there toward Christians, until I got into internet chat, about seven years ago.
At first, it was a rather nasty shock...but not as shocking as the "Christian" response!

So-called 'moderate' Christians are enablers of extreme Christians... they do not constrain them or rebuke them. This is just as bad, and just as contemptable as the ordinary Moslems not constraining the Islamic extremists.
Ordinary Christians are dupes of the extremists... they follow along with political agendas, under cover of morality or family issues, but ultimately aimed at creating a theocracy in the USA... and they are too dense to realize that they are being used.

You used the right word: defensive. But instead of criticizing non-christians for defending themselves, why don't you criticize the christians for their unprovoked assaults on others?

It is the extreme Christians that give the rest of us a bad name! The hypocrites that judge everyone and push religion on everyone..

Yeah; most Christians like myself are very mellow, we don't hate gays, and we're nice folks.
Of course, we'll be lumped together with the Jerry Falwell types by those who believe "if it looks like a duck and smells like a duck..."

I am a Christian and I do not keep to myself... The Lord told us to be strong in the Word, in the defence of his HOLY WORD, IN takeing care of our own. We are to be strong for each other lifting each other up when one falls down. Not keeping to our selfs like some frightened little mouse, stand on your own two feet, be strong in the LORD.

It is human nature to get defensive. DENIAL is not an attitude,
it's a DEFENSE MECHANISM.
Did you know the real trouble is, most people are OFFENSIVE.
Attacking first, out of FEAR others might criticize them?
