my answer to someone else who asked a question was: I'm talking from the 1960's because I can't keep up with the changes in verbiage in today's society. White trash used to be when a white girl was with a black guy because back in those days it was against the law for them to mix or marry. White trash also meant prostitution by poor white women who lived in trailers (now they call them mobile homes) and in parks and all kinds of guys would visit their place. It could mean there were drugs involved as well.

Rednecks were people who were farmers (hence the red neck from the t-shirt they wore, or people would joke about farmer's arms (where the short sleeved shirt would give them a sunburn). Later on people changed the term a little and called people who loved to scrap (fight) or pick fights in bars as rednecks. I'd think it was because after a hard day a guy would go for a brew in a bar.

Back then we didn't call anyone illegals because everyone was invited into America by a relative, and they lived in America 7 years and then became a citizen, so they were more prospective citizens.

Today illegals are usually those who come from Mexico, either the underground passage or who are running across the border in a non-monitored place and who have no intention of becoming citizens. some are here just for work and find their way back home, and others stay and have a child (called an anchor baby) and then America hesitates to send back the parents because they're illegals but they have a child to support here and the child born here is an American.

Well, first off rednecks are here and the government knows they're here. Rednecks pay taxes, illegal don't. Rednecks speak english (even if it may be their own version), illegals don't. rednecks aren't asking for the national anthem to be changed, unless of course it's A Country Boy Can Survive. Rednecks can actually give the cashier at the 7-11 thier lottery numbers in english, illegals instead try to confuse the poor girl behind the counter by giving their lottery numbers in spanish. rednecks can at least give their birthdate in English when purchasing beer and cigs, where as illegals rattle off some nonsense in spanish. Rednecks aren't asking our government to supply them with forms in their native tongue, when after all, the government speaks english.
and last but not least, Rednecks drink their beer from bottles, not cans(just in case the bottle might be required as a weapon to defend themselves against an illegal ) ps i might be a redneck

Illegals defines its self as people who illegally came into this country alot of whom are only here looking for a hand out. If they really want to come looking for jobs there are LEGAL ways to do so. Rednecks are down to earth hard working good peoples. Rednecks were born here or to people born here. Also you dont have to be white to be a redneck, and 90% of yankees would be hurt that you called them redneck.

I would say on both accounts you are quite incorrect. I am sure plenty of illegals hail from the countryside and are "wild" but many are probably civilized and quite calm. The same can go for redneck white trash. You don't have to live in a barn in the hills to be trash. There are plenty of people that appear civilized that I would call trash. And also being redneck white trash doesn't necessarily make you wild...

You are generalizing I'm not sure what your definition of red neck is but most Americans are decent hard working people,that pursue any kind of life style they desire because they are LEGAL Americans.
Ive met a lot of people of all colors and nationalities that could fall into your "Redneck " meaning of country and wild.I wonder where you are from ? I'm from Arizona and we are a little wild but not country.But it doesn't matter to me how any American acts,as long as he/she is a legal American.

First off I am an American by birth but a redneck by choice. Illegals break our immigration laws. Cross our borders illegally. I obay laws, pay taxes, and work hard because millions on welfare depend on me.
