Oddly enough most crossdressers ARE straight men and contrary to popular belief, gay men are rarely crossdressers. This is logical since gay men are attracted to other gay men - NOT to women. With this in mind it doesn't make sense that a gay man would crossdress for the purpose of attracting another gay man. Straight men who crossdress are known to have an appreciation and admiration for women that is far above that of the typical male. This admiration is one of the factors that makes many men want to impersonate the object of their admiration. You might think of it as a sort of play acting like one may have done as a child when emulating one of the personalities seen on television. You knew you weren't superman or batman or any of hundreds of other well known figures or 'super-heros', but for a little while it was fun to pretend that you were. Crossdressing is very similar in the respect that straight men don't actually want to BE women, but rather to expereince what they believe it might feel like for short periods of time. Another reason is that the texture and feel of feminine clothing is quite different from that of the usual male attire. Also the softer fablics and wide assortment of colors and styles available to women is an attraction

To me it's the comfort of the cloths. Every body finds clothing differently comfortable. Some men and women like tight cloths as apposed to loose ones. Some people like thinner and cooler materials like silk as apposed to cotton. For me it's mostly skirts as opposed to pants. Not real short skirts but something that falls just above the knee. It's looser, less constricting. Kind of naked feeling. But, for me comfortable.

I like the feel of silky nylon material that lingerie is made of. I know today they also make cotton lingerie, but only the nylon or rayon materials get me stirred up. That being said, I then also like wedding dresses and formal made from the same material.
I grew up in the 60's where women still wore nylon slips, and netted petticoats under all their dresses, so I wore all my sisters and moms taffeta dresses and petticoats as well as all their nylon lingerie too.
Thats why I cross dress to feel the material as I wear it.

I dress because I like the feel of the material in women s clothes compared to men s. I love the swish of a dress as I walk with my skirt rubbing against my stockings.

Why does the earth turn? Why do you like chocolate but not vanilla? Is this a rhetorical question?
