They're right!

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Where does it say Emmanual

OOOPS. You're right! Found it!

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

He has many names, the same way God has many names in the Old and New Testaments. And consequently, Jesus IS called many different names: Lord, the Good Shepherd, etc.

Good point! How can there be power in the name of Jesus if that wasn't supposed to be his name?

Just looks like another one of those forced prophecies. Written to make it look like it was fulfilled, but in all reality, wasn't.

What difference does it make? King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Jesus, Lord, Christ, we know its the Son of God. There is power in the name of Jesus.

Emmanuel was the title, not the name. The angel was saying, "And his name shall be exalted above all."

THE word Emmanuel just means ,,,, GOD IS WITH US. his name was to be JESUS ,,,,, that is what they were told to name him, not Emmanuel. JESUS is the Christ, not Emmanuel is the Christ.
