I have golf balls I bought 3 years ago, are they still good?

Not really, the modern two and three piece balls maintain their playability over extended periods of time 10 years and more. Older wound golf balls lost some of their playability as they aged. You were always told to use or lose those balls within the first two years. You could use them but would expect a 2 to 3% loss of distance and control each year after the second year (hardly noticeable to the average amateur).

Yes BUT they will probalby fly 5-10% shorter than new balls since they may have picked up moisture unless you live in a dry area like Arizona. If you have a food dehaydrator they work great to bring back older balls to lilke new condition or you can seal them I plastic with some dessicant for a cpl of weeks. They won't get any worse tho unless you hang onto them a very long time or store them improperly (like in your car)

Or you can just use them as is.

3 year old golf balls will not go as far as new ones but only slightly less. You can still play with them.

Oh my god do they ever.....and when they do, you better hope they aren't locked in your car because the stinch that comes from them is unbelivably horrendous...a smell like you never smelt before.....

usually, if they look good they will play. if they are cut hacked and bruised, toss them over the fence into your neighbor's yard.
