I got a perm a while ago..over six months ago, and it's starting to get less curly now. I really want it to last longer, perms are expensive! Any ideas?
BTW, it was just a curly regular perm, medium length hair.

BTW, my hair really doesn't grow very fast, and it's not that my perm is growing out.The bottom is getting less curly too. I haven't had any hair cuts or trims.

Thanks!

Trim the very ends of your hair, and it will perk right up. Use professional products for your hair type, to maintain a nice looking perm.

Face the fact that your hair is always growing and the new hair will not have the perm. Six months can be a lot of new growth. Face the fact that you are asking for what is not possible. You must be a Blondie

Go easy on the conditioners. They have a tendency to weigh hair down. After 6 months, it has grown several inches---as many as 6 inches! So the hair itself is weighing itself down. On the other hand, if you have been having your hair trimmed monthly, the perm at the ends has been cut off.

There are shampoos out there to help the perm last, also, don't use too much conditioner. The conditioner will have a tendency to relax a perm.

Perms are not good for your hair, love. Try ibg waves in your hair or super-straight hair...check out Cosmo magazine for different styles to use.

did you make sure that you didn't use conditioner on it for about a week after the perm? also, use a pick, not a brush when styling your hair.

Yes, are you using the salon products that are made just for that reason? Also, if you're blow drying, don't! That will pull the curl out. After washing your hair, do you scrunch it? That will help the curls stay better.
