Why cant we all accept others religions and live in this world without conflict? and why do we all believe that God, Jesus or Allah is greater than the other? arnt these names used to symbolize someone greater ourselves yet we all believe that we are right and others arnt?.

If I had to choose I would stand as far away from any religion as possible.

Well the problem is that I cannot accept Islam or whichever religion because it I believe it is not true, others will disagree. However, I can accept that some people are Muslims and I can respect them for this, even though I do of course think that it is wrong. I don't think that my God is better than any other, that sounds like a petty argument between religions, about who's God is the best. No, my God is the only God, Allah simply does not exist. Some will say that Allah and God are in fact the same, wrong, God is the God of Christians, Allah is the God of Muslims, I'm sorry but i am not a Muslims so do not believe in Allah, only God.
I would not say that my God is better than anyone else's, to say that is rude and stupid, and really quite meaningless, since we all believe that the other's God does not exist!

What we are missing is RESPECT:-
Respect other people's chosen beliefs
Respect people if they choose not to believe in any God
Respect peoples' right not to have someone else's opinion rammed down their throat
Most religions claim to teach respect, it seems a shame that some followers seem unable to put that into practice. Claiming that "the Christian God" is somehow different or better than "the Muslim God" is just religious pedantry - why can't the same God be different things to different people?
People who rant on about "Jesus is the only one" or Allah is the only true God" etc etc are entitled their opinions. But that is all they are - OPINIONS. Telling other people with different opinions that they are "unbelievers", "going to burn in Hell" or any other such nonsense is showing nothing more than a closed mind and a lack of respect.

Not all religions are equal. God gave us the true religion (Catholicism, the only Christian religion) to live by, but some men decided they knew better than God and everybody, and made up their own. Therein lies the conflict. (Besides the fact that those who claim to be Catholic often set a bad example.)
Muslims call their god Allah, which isn't the same as the true God. Since they don't believe everything He said, they cannot possibly worship God. Of course, that goes for Protestants and others, as well.

Unfortunately there are many more "Sheeple" on this planet than there are "People". Far too many have forgotten how to be Compassionate, Tolerant and Loving Human Beings. We all have the need to be Right!
Perhaps because we need to feel superior?
When we realize that these names, God, Allah, Muhammed, Buddha etc. are man-made perhaps we can begin to understand that there is only ONE true source. When one dies you're not going to meet these deities. How vain we are to think that just because we have lived our lives, regardless of good or evil and whether we "repent" or whatever we aren't going to go to "heaven or hell" or "wherever" we are all going to experience another level of learning and knowledge. Death is NOT an end, it is only a NEW beginning.

It's not the religions - its the people who follow it - Jesus is an Islamic prophet or summat - they are connected - so why should Christians and Muslims be in war all the time - when they are connected? Hindus (with the creation stories) believe that there is no one right story - as no one can prove it - they should all just accepted - the ideas are the main thing as it keeps you wondering.

Because inherent in the credophilic mindset is the need to believe that you're right, and that means believing everyone else is wrong. Many religions actually have instructions in their holy books, like the bible, forbidding the toleration of non-believers. Religion kills folks dead!

I with you, and we are not alone.. John Lennon was looking for this also and he had millions behind him... For the most part it is a very few people who start these whole messes and then drag all of the innocent into it.. It's the devil, it's greed and money, that is all it is about.. Some day we will find that place we are looking for and I will be there to hug you... Good Luck and God Bless

we all believe that our own religion is the right one. but we wont know until after we die what is right and what is wrong. so basically we are all fighting for nothing as we all believe in a being and a poweful one at that. but we have gone too far with trying to preach to others.

We all have our bias in every aspect of life . A lot of us find it hard to drop our aversions to other people's way of life. This intolerance will always generate conflict. Most religious adherents don't really practice the messages of love and tolerance in their holy books anyway.
