I would be very careful about taking benadryl or any other antihistamine considering your addiction to xanax and alcohol.
You need to be under a doctor's care

17 years? Yeah I'd say so...I would think the stuff lost it's effect ions ago. Having a hard time breathing? Could be a LOT of things. Get a check up.

Xanax and alcohol are system depressants. That means they slow body functions down. That's why you should never mix them. Yes, after 17 years you are addicted. You should go to detox and get off BOTH substances.

no it shouldn't. Yes you can develope an allergy to something at anytime, its almost a learned behavior by your body. You need to try some benadryl to see if it improves, it doesn't start getting better with an hour or so you need to go to the dr asap. It might be something else too, but why risk it when it comes to your lungs........
