i have met this guy (28 years) who i really fancy. hes been chasing me for over a year!i told him how i feel and he says he likes me too but is not ready for a relationship. i havent slept with him. i have heard rumours that hes a player and is only interested in the chase and that hes never had a girlfriend before. Does he really like me as hes been chasing me for over a year?do players really chase that long if they are not really interested?

Yes they do, guys will do anything to capture a woman they "fancy". The longer the woman holds out the harder they'll try. Guys like that, love the challenge and once they get it, they no longer want it and move on to another challenge.
At 28 I would've hoped he'd grown up by now but some guys will never grow up.

You'd be better off finding a man that isn't into playing games

They do chase that long but they have conquests in between. I think he may actually want to get with you but is scared because he hasn't had a girlfriend before. Although he may just be doing that to get you into bed. Best thing to do is ask him.

Say to him, "Look, Im not ready for a relationship either so do you want to just go and have sex and then see what happens from there?"

Even if you want to or not, if you say it, judge his reaction. If he seems really happy, back to 'player mode' and keen to arrange a time and place to have sex then he is only after the chase. If he seems relieved and embarassed slightly...then he likes you more than just a one nighter and is very shy!

It may not be the best approach and too direct but it is garunteed to get a reaction out of him.

Hope it helps in any way.

Yes, players will chase that long, but it's not only you they are chasing. They will flirt with every woman they are interested in, for as long as it takes to get into their panties, and in the mean time they will be doing likewise with all the others. And being he's stated he doesn't want a relationship with you, other than perhaps just some more sex, he's not interested in you in the most basic of all long term relationships... best of friends.

There is no absolute answer to this question. However, I can attest to the fact that some players will pursue a woman for years just to complete the chase. In this case he has told you he isn't interested in a relationship so I would tell him to leave you alone until he is actually interested in a relationship.

Nope. If a player can't get you within a reasonable amount of time, his game will continue elsewhere. It's all about the conquest. Your guy sounds like he is scared of a relationship. Maybe he has been severely rejected or something and he's shying away from going there again. At least you told him how you feel. The ball is in his court. BUT, don't wait forever for him to play.

Well, frankly, I think most guys love to chase. Thats why it is more typical for males to be stalkers than females, not that there aren't any psycho girls who will chase too, but anyway. If a guy says he's not ready for a relationship it is probably true. Maybe he just wants to be friends right now.

You have already told him how you feel. He responded by saying he's not ready for a relationship. He was honest. If he was a player, he wouldn't have responded honestly. He's told you how he feels, if you want to be in a relationship, you need to move on and start dating other people. Stay in contact with him and be friends if you enjoy talking to him.

Yes, the chase can be exciting and then all interest can be lost. You already know this guy is a player, dont bother.

Yes, he is only out to conquer. If he really liked you after going after you for that long, there is no way he would say he isn't ready for a relationship. He sounds like an idiot. And you would be a fool to fall for it.

If he is really interested in you sexually and he had any inclination that you have even the slightest interest then yes you were worth the chase...
