Cataract is a normal part of the aging process. Macular degeneration is usually Age Related. The incidence of Glaucoma increases with age. Presbyopia is a normal part of the aging process. The sclera may thin with age. Cholesterol deposits may become visible in the limbal area of the cornea; this is refered to as arcus juvenillis. With age associated illness, there may be occlusion of arteries or veins in the eye. Keratitis sicca or "dry eye" is more prevalent in the aged. The list of conditions that are more prevalent with age is long.

macular degeneration - ask your ophthalmologist - which is why older people often need to start to wear glasses/contacts.
