A JENSEN TV-931 Low Profile Vhf/uhf/hdtv Amplified Antenna.Works great for me and highly rated even for HD tv .That is if you dont live too far from broadcasting antennas .

I have both an attic antenna and rabbit ears on the top of my TVs. Neither one does a better job of bringing in all stations.

Depends on how far you are from the transmitter(s), and what lies between. I have used the second-best Radio Shack antenna in two installations; in one, it worked extremely well; in the other, it was adequate. HDTV may change this.
