I was watching "The Biggest Loser" last night and it showed the fat contestants exercising and then having to get up to go vomit. Why?

It has to do with them releasing the toxins in their body as well as not being used to doing that much activity. I think they only throw up for the first couple days though until their body gets used to it.

I have heard of that before. It's more common for people to pass out if they over work their bodies doing more than they can handle.
The exercise could be over straining to them that it causes light headed and rapid heart beat which is enough to cause dizziness resulting in vomiting. Really it can happen to anyone.

Thin/fit ppl can certainly do that too if they over do it. You need to wait a good 2-3 hours after you eat to do strenuous exercise. There are lots of factors which can cause it, dehydration and heat exhaustion are the most common ones. Read this article for more answers:

Causes
Vomiting may be due to a large number of causes, and protracted vomiting has a long differential diagnosis.

[edit]
Digestive tract
Causes in the digestive tract:

Gastritis (inflammation of the gastric wall, usually by viruses)
Pyloric stenosis (in babies - this typically causes a very forceful "projectile vomiting" and is an indication for urgent surgery)
Bowel obstruction
Acute abdomen and/or peritonitis
Ileus
Cholecystitis, pancreatitis, appendicitis, hepatitis
In children, it can be caused by an allergic reaction to cow's milk proteins (milk allergy)
[edit]
Sensory system and brain
Causes in the sensory system:

Movement: motion sickness (which is caused by overstimulation of the labyrinthine canals of the ear)
Ménière's disease
Causes in the brain:

Concussion
Intoxication with alcohol (being sick whilst being drunk or being sick the next morning suffering from the after-effects, i.e. the hangover).
Cerebral hemorrhage
Brain tumors
Benign intracranial hypertension and hydrocephalus
Metabolic disturbances (these may irritate both the stomach and the parts of the brain that coordinate vomiting):

Hypercalcemia (high calcium levels)
Uremia (urea accumulation, usually due to renal failure)
Adrenal insufficiency
Hypoglycemia
Pregnancy:

Hyperemesis, Morning sickness
Opioids, many chemotherapy drugs and a host of other drugs may cause nausea and vomiting.

[edit]
Other
Self-induced
Eating disorders (anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa)
Sexual fetish (emetophilia)
To remove a poison in case such has been ingested (some poisons should not be vomited as they may be more toxic when inhaled or aspirated; it is generally considered better to ask for help before inducing vomiting)
Some people who are engaged in binge drinking will induce vomiting in order to make room in their stomachs for further alcohol consumption. In the United Kingdom, this practice is known as tactical chundering, and as boot and rally in the United States.
After surgery (postoperative nausea and vomiting)
Disagreeable sights or smells, such as decayed matter, others' vomit, etc.
Extreme pain, such as intense headache or myocardial infarction (heart attack)
Violent emotions (including laughing)
Cyclic vomiting syndrome (a poorly understood condition with attacks of vomiting)
High doses of ionizing radiation will sometimes trigger a vomit reflex in the victim.
Violent fits of coughing

Anyone working out very strenuously can vomit. Strenuous is a relative thing.

Being overweight has nothing to do with it. It is from over-exertion. Anyone can vomit from exercising harder than their body is used to.

My guess is because they pushed themselves too hard, they are doing something their bodies aren't used to and it makes them ill. Some long distance runners get ill like that if they overheat.

All and the word should be obese instead of fat people do not vomit from exercise. That could happen to anyone. It depends on if a person ate something that may not have agreed with them or it could be health related. Please give obese people a break. Sometimes it's even hereditary. Everyone can't be a size 2 and Anorexic.
