Satan is called in the bible the god, little "g" of this world. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, the title deed to the earth was handed over to satan. That is why, in the book of Revelation, Jesus takes back that scroll. He is the only one worthy to redeem us. He will...one day. But right now, satan is the "prince of the power of the air" and is influencing everything. When Jesus returns to rule and reign, satan will be chained in the abyss for 1,000 years. Now THAT will be interesting.

The only power that Satan has on this earth is the the power of temptation. He will tempt us to make mistakes and go down the wrong path, but there is no way that he has power. and to the person that said that it seems that God has stepped back because the world reflects Satan more that God, God is in everything good. there are miracles performed everyday. you might not see them because you arent looking. but Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ rule and have power over our world and many other worlds that they have created. i know that to be true.

God made the Earth and us, Satan wants to be God, he came here and is deceiving man. He wants us to stop worshiping God and to warship him instead.
Satan is Good at what he does. He has been successful in deceiving all men, all men except one that is. Jesus Beat Satan.
The world right now is ruled by Sin(Satan) but one day Jesus will come back with the army of God and remove Satan(Sin) from the whole world.

Satan is cAlled th ruler of this world. Even when one rules a
kingdom, there are those who oppose him and want to overthrow
him.
Satan only has power over us because we have an evil nature
ourselves. Our spirit must live within a physical body, for
whatever reason. And that physical body tends to make one
selfish.

Why this question? but if you are looking for a biblical response; here is what I can tell you:
Th earth does not belong to satan but to God because He created it but the bible calls satan the prince of the air because he has control over a lot of things around the earth because most of those things are far from God.

The atrocities that happen daily sure seem to reflect Satan's personality more than God's.
It would seem God has stepped back temporarily.

God gave us this earth to live in faith and righteousness. sure satan is trying to drag as many as he could to H**L with him, that's why we must fight against all evil inclinations... rampant sex, low morals, lack of religion... blah blah blah...
