Do you recommend a hybrid, and if so, which one?

I highly recommend atleast two hybrids in your bag. I use a 3 and 4 iron hybrid. You swing just like an iron and is great off the tea and easy to hit out of the rough. I use Walter Hagan's and I love them but just try some different ones out and see what you like.

Yes. The common script on them is that they are easier to hit than long irons. I bought a Penn Hybrid 21 degrees with moveable weights at MC Sports, that retailed for about a hundred on sale for twenty. If you have trouble with you long irons, it's worth a short. They can be good out of the sand and rough. In the September issue of Golf Magazine, the cover story was '1 Club, 4 shots!' It even showed how to chip with it, and tested and rated 8 hybrids. For the sake of your time, Bobby Jones Players Series ($180) was the winner

the best ones on the market are the Hogan, Sonartec or Taylor Made hybrids - I personally have a Sonartec MD 21 degree instead of a 3 iron and I can hit it about 210 yards with a smooth swing - they're great choices to put in the bag

Replace all lower lofted iron that you play than a 5 iron with hybrids. They are easier to hit, easier to get in the air, fly higher, and go farther. Hogan makes a good set but you should be able to match hybrids with the manufacturer's clubs you are playing.

I love my 22 and 18 degee Nike CPR clubs. I got rid of my 3 and 4 iron as well as my fairway woods.The shaft is 4-6 inchs shorter. I hit the 22 degree 200 yards 18 degree 215 yards. remember to put the ball further up in your stance and take an easy swing...
