Hmmm....looks like everyone is in favour of cutting them. dont u think its a bit harsh...cos she has wasted more than ten yrs of her life growing them that long.

I am a proponent for long hair on a lady. I find it quite lovely. However, hair reaching to her knees is more eccentric then beautiful, no matter how well it is taken care of. If she wants to cut it, it is probably due to the hassle of maintenance.
My suggestion...cut it to just above the small of her back. That is the ideal length for classic beauty, not as difficult to maintain, and it is not so short incase she regrets cutting it.

I just cut my "to the bottom of my butt" length hair this morning.

It was getting caught in the car door, the seatbelt, dipping into the tub when I'd bathe my kids, and I couldn't lean down and tie my shoes without it dragging on the ground.

So I cut it just a few minutes ago.... I took about eight inches off, so now it's just above my bottom, and it feels so much lighter and silkier. I know it's not a huge change (although I did layer it) but just taking that much off was the change I needed.

So I guess if I were her, I wouldn't go too radical at first. Maybe take a foot of so off if she wants to donate it, but after that, she should live with the length a bit before she decides she wants to go shorter.... if you've had your hair that long for a long time, it feels like you are a bit naked without it if you go too extreme.

I went from butt length to shoulder length in highschool and I was really shocked and wished I hadn't gone so extreme.

In the end it's her choice, but I'd caution her to go slowly.

I would cut it to my bra strap. Thats looong. Mine is that long, and its already bothering me, in my way, its heavy, thick and I really think it looks best shorter than that.
Long hair is pretty, but takes on an ugly , not so attractive look after it reaches a certain length.

Ive worn mine this length for 10 yrs, and that was after growing out layers.

I think it's impossible for hair that long to really be full of volume. Have her cut it mid-back. Hair that long makes people look at her like a freak, you know?

I love long hair on a woman. It is a sign of strength and character because it takes years and a lot of hard work to care for properly. It can become a health issue causing headaches.

Personally I think it's too long. There's not alot you can do with hair that's that long. And I thought mine was long. I have it down past my back but i have alot of layers. I get more compliments since I let it grow. Guys dig it.

Women's hair is a secondary sexual characteristic. Like breasts, behind, legs, eyes, lips. Long hair is attractice if well kept. Extremely long hair is like extremely large breasts, an oddity but a facination and obsession for some men.
