Do you think it ok for a child to wear the same clothes (school uniform) all week with out it being washed?

The reason I ask is when I was at school (13 years ago) it was ok for us to wear the same clothes all week.
For my son (7) he has a clean uniform every day.

My son (aged 10) has a clean uniform everyday, although I have let him wear the same jumper two days on the trot before, but only if it was clean. I would never let him wear the same short, pants, socks, or trousers two days running though

My Daughter has a clean shirt every day but she wears her trousers for 2 days before I wash it and her balzer gets washed once a week. Obviously if the uniform is really dirty I will wash it more often. Her PE kit gets washed the night after she has worn it. I think it depends on the childs personal hygene and how dirty the uniform it to how often it should be washed but i think leaving a week is a little much. Especially for teenagers with all their raging hormones and related odour problems!

Well I wouldn't like to wear the same clothes for 5 days but kids don't sweat under the arms etc. My Daughter has a clean uniform 3 times a week. Mon, wed and Fri usually.

It depends if he can keep it clean without spilling food on it and so on.

My daughter is nearly 6 and I try to get her to wear the same clothes for at least 2 days sometimes 3 (she has a half day on a Friday) through the week. It doesn't always happen as she spills her lunch on it or she gets paint on it.

I don't see the need to change it every day if it is clean and as long as he changes out of it when he gets home.

I don't think its good to go a whole week without washing it. They play in those clothes....sweat and the clothes get smelly. You don't want your kid to be the smelly kid in class do you? I would def. try to have the uniform washed daily. If not, see if your child can't have more than one uniform...at least two so you can get a chance to wash the one while the child is wearing the other!

I think it depends on how clean the child is, i think boys need theirs cleaning more than girls because of them playing football at playtime etc but in general yea i think its acceptable for the uniform to be washed 3 times a week.

When my two were at school, trousers and jumpers etc were changed twice a week if needed, once if not, but always a clean shirt and underwear. At age of 7, your son will not perspire like an older child, so the jumper and trs will be fine

Clean shirt and underwear everyday. Same trousers/skirt and cardigan/jumper all week. They wont get bubonic plague. Forget what other people do. Mine only get bathed twice a week and that is on the doctors reccommendation! Too much bathing is bad for the skin - so there!

most boys are such muck magnets that they need a clean uniform every day
i think in this day and age it would be considered quite unhygenic and antisocial to wear the same clothes for a week
