I do. It is something that I never mess with. My sons are GM mechanics and they would never let me take it off!

Every car produced after 1975 has one, unless it's been illegally removed by someone. Not many cars these days DON'T have one or more.

here in texas if you live in certain counties you have to have an emission test ever year on you vehicle. therefore you need a catalytic converter and it needs to work

I don't know how many do where you are, but it's mandatory in Ontario Canada, We have a drive clean program.

some places they take them off instead of getting fixed or repair
