XXCopy is used to back up files and directories from 1 folder to another or 1 computer to another. Normal users would not usually use the command to copy files. System Administrators use them in batch files to automate file backups.

Robocopy.exe is another tool located in the Windows 2003 resource kit, and it is the one I use to do file backups automatically.

I am assuming you mean the DOS command xcopy. Have never heard of xxcopy. Xcopy is a powerful version of the copy command with additional features; has the capability of moving files, directories, and even whole drives from one location to another. Use it when the standard copy command is not able to do what you want. (Personally, I use it all the time instead of he copy command).
