As a result of another member on this site posting a question asking if atheists had a better sense of humor than religious fundamentalists, I decided to put that idea to the test. I posted the "Allah & Jesus" question about a fictional boxing match between them then later posted "Allah & Jesus Part Two" because of the various witty responses to that post.

Two religious people did not see the humor in this. They were offended to the point where they had both posts deleted. I was not angry or hurt by this action. I was surprised by it.

As a result of this action, I've come to the conclusion that perhaps the original post was correct. Atheist DO have a substancially better sense of humor. They can see the satire and irony in it all. Religious fundamentalists are another story. Given that they had my posts deleted, would you not agree that they have little or no sense of humor and are very thin skinned?

Your thoughts? And as before, humor is always welcome!

eggplant.

Okay, sorry. I stole that from devlsadvocat, who is an atheist and who andswered a very long and involved question that way. I thought it was hysterical.

Yes, I do think atheists generally have better senses of humor about God because they are not afraid of blaspheming. I'm not atheist, but I'm also not uptight about things religious, so I find the atheists much funnier. Irreverance is funny. It just is.

Or, eggplant.

Humor can be used for a serious question, or answer. Unfortunately, I have (as long as I can remember) not been one of those people blessed with that talent. (What I find humorous, many others did not; therefore I have tended to be serious minded, although I enjoy a good laugh like anybody. (I do not recall the wording of it but; humor is good for the bones (per the Bible).

both! each horse differs clone of human beings. clone of there are those with thick and skinny epidermis, there are horses with thick and skinny epidermis. operating example, Mustangs and some QHs and "previous style" Morgans have fairly thick epidermis. relies upon on the breeding and clearly the guy horse. Others like Arabians, TBs, and Saddlebreds have thinner epidermis commonly because they seem to be a "lighter style" breed, back, counting on the guy horse. I owned an Appy that you'll be able to triumph over the sh*t out of with a crop to move and he or she does no longer even turn away, while my Arab I have now is going bonkers at the same time as a fly lands on his rump! tremendous smooth epidermis and extremely smooth emotionally as well. Cows are an finished distinct tale. no longer in reality are they thick skinned, yet they have a truly severe tolerance for soreness. because of this a cow must be reduce open with a scalpal blade at the same time as it colics and performance someone stick their arm interior their body and twist the intestines with their fingers, all at the same time as being status, unsleeping, and chewing their hay like no longer some thing even got here about. A horse even with the indisputable fact that can die from the wonder of the soreness of a abdomen soreness on my own, subsequently why we horse proprietor's attempt to ward off colic and are so terrified of it. i imagine some human beings can use a crop on their horse and that i imagine some human beings must be stupid to, if their horse is a few thing like mine. in my opinion, even if I had a thick skinned horse, i can make it my purpose to regain sensitivity and responsiveness. I wouldnt opt to be considered interior the educate ring or out on the course kicking the daylights out of my horse's aspects because he received't walk ahead. i ought to apply leg, then a contact/reminder of what my leg ability with my crop, till I had to apply it a lot less and a lot less. I have a feeling you should do an analogous ;-) some human beings have distinct values in driving, others have none. lol

Interesting experiment.
But have you considered the fact that you are making fun of someone we love. Now imagine that I said pippy poo's mother is into beastiallity, and half the people at this site were trying to convince the other half that your mom has intercourse with horses.

I tried to remain humerous. But there is a very serious point to why we might become more offended than athiest.

A sense of humor is completely subjective and what is funny to one person is offensive to another. Perhaps the Christians do not think hostility and mockery is funny. There was once a thing in society called TACT.

Sounds to me like Yahoo is one of those fundamentalists by deleting your post. They are as bad as everyone else trying to suppress freedom of speech. Now I know this isn't covered under the constitution's first amendment, but for goodness sake some people are way to easily offended. If you don't like what is being said I've got a clue for you........"BACK BUTTON".

I had the word (p.u.s.s.y.) blocked out when it was being used in the proper context in substitution for cat. How is that profanity?

Just to defend the Xians, I did see one tell a joke. Once. It was kind of funny too. It was pro religion, but other than that I have never seen anything that could be construed as a sense of humor.

How's this.
God and the Devil were having this discussion when God says I've had this idea to give my people the gift of spirituality.

The devil responded, God, what a terrific idea. I'll organize it for you and call it religion.

Religious fundamentalist and humor seems to be an oxymoron to me.

I think your premise is not proven by either of your questions. If you wanted to see whether or not atheists have thin skins, you needed to insult them, too. Instead, you only insulted the religious folks.

Read the answers I got to this question to see how thin skinned atheists really are:

You were intentionally insulting to Christians ! We have a right to object, if we were Muslims you would be being threatened.
