Sorry about having to ask twice but there doesn't seem to be a way to reply to remarks to my question, like "Install it" Whoever that was didn't bother to say how or why when I downloaded it, it wasn't installed automatically. So if I have a reply to someones answer I will just repost my question.

Hi. I did a search files and folders for "flash player" in case there was an install option but it doesn't find anything except some junk in temperary folders and some Flashplayer kit which is 29 pages in Adobe that dont' really say much. I checked in "My Downloads" too but no flash player icon in there from which to install it if it didn't automatically install when I downloaded it.

Hi, it installs itself, there is no folder that you need to go to. If the icon moves after you install it then it was "install successfully" like mine was all 8 attempts. I just doesn't work though.

I had the same problem after attempting to update to flash player version 9 in XP. The first thing to do is close all browser windows and any program that might be using flash player. Then use the uninstall program to uninstall all former versions of flash. After you have completed this, perform a reboot of your system. Then go to the flash download page at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/. Walk through the steps to install flash, paying particular attention to clicking on the bar underneath your toolbars to allow Active X control and Flash Player to be installed. On a high speed connection, the download and installation should take only a few minutes. This worked for me; hope it works for you.

Good luck

If you are asking how to install it, go to the file (where you saved it) and open the whole folder. There may be an "Install" icon, if so, click on that. If there is not one, then click on the file that has ".exe" after it.
