I doubt its for kicks. I think it could be fear of rejection cos being scared of that can make so many people do silly things. He might feel that you are expecting more than he can actually give you...I mean after all the calls, texts and cyber sex, he may think you have high expectations for what could happen and that might scare him incase he cant live up to what you want or what he has told you.

Er..... the texts, the cyber sex, the phone calls. You've just hit the nail on the head. Men like this can't have a full on relationship. They are to busy wanking to be out buying girls drinks.

Who said they didn't turn up??
For all you know they could be watching you from a far!!
Why would he want to meet you in the flesh when he can keep you a fantasy in his head?
I think you should meet people in the flesh before having any type of sex with them, isn't that a better way to conduct a relationship or am I just confused??

They're probably some fat, toothless Buda-looking thing that is getting a total thrill whacking off on their end of the cyber-conversation. Drool, body odor, back hair, unibrows. Do you really want to see that? They're doing you a favor by not showing up!

I agree with the first 2 answers
fear of rejection or love of the chase
or they don't have any real time for a woman in their life so they just use lines of communication to feel wanted and needed and liked

Maybe it is just the chase, or the excitement, the possibility of getting caught doing something 'wrong', I think a lot of the time its fear that they wont live up to expectations or maybe the fantasy is better than the reality. So to answer your question - I have NO idea! The possibilities are endless

It is the thrill of the chase, thrill of the unknown. Once they are confronted with the reality of actually meeting a real person, the fantasy fades, and real life is just not as much fun as imagination!

It's not a kick. It is probably insecurity and fear. They are human too. Maybe your "cyber-guy" isn't as confident as he portrayed himself to be. It is easier to be something that you are not when you have only a computer screen and a keyboard in front of you.
