Yes.

I recently posted a question (intended as humor) "Do I look like Santa" in the R & S section because I have answered nearly 7,000 questions, primarily in this section, and did not consider placing it anywhere else.

I was surprised when the very first answer including the question, "Why is this in this section?"

Which, to me, was obvious. But, I forget that the questions also appear on the home page and are seen by all. I answer questions in other categories, but they do not seem to have regulars and they do seem like strangers.

BTW, I put the question up for vote and was disappointed that the "why is this in this section" question was voted "best answer."

There are quite a few regulars and I do know everyone pretty much. At least I know their typical views on religion and perhaps what their religious point of view is. I don't necessarily feel like I'm talking to strangers, but they do seem awkward.

You really should step outside your comfort zone once in a while. The categories are there for a reason. If you are really looking for a serious answer, that is. If you are having fun, you might need your friends' support. Just a thought.

Yeah, it kinda does
For better or for worse, this is where I like to hang out, and I feel like I know a lot of the regulars.

Interesting question....no, I don't feel that way. But sometimes when I see people I "know" outside of here, I feel like yelling "Hey Norm!"

Sort of like Cheers with a little all in the family thrown in for good measure.

No it feels like I am asking a question of sane, polite people as opposed to angry delusional people.

No. I've also made friends in LGBT, Motor Sports, and Music. I believe in going to the right place for advice.
