If everything that happens to you is God's will or Jesus's or whoever the hell you follow, why do you seek medical help when you get sick? Surely you should just let nature take its course and leave it up to God/Jesus/etc. to decide whether you should stay or go? Aren't you just interfering with their work?

Thanks mortgage girl, its nice to know that me and all the other nurses who spent 3 years training and all the doctors who spent about 7 years training needn't have bothered we could have just gone to the hospital and waited for god to tell us what to do, i could have saved myself a fortune in books,

being a surgical nurse i can tell you this-- whats the difference between a surgeon and god??
--- god doesn't believe he's a surgeon..

I would actually disagree that everything that happened to me was God's will. If I decided to jump of a cliff tomorrow then I would think of that as my own decision, God wouldn't have made me do that. I think that God has an influence on my life that is very powerful, but by no means does he control every second of it. I do not believe in fate, and I think that that idea is quite dangerous, the decision I make are mine, the difference is that I pray to God to ask Him to help me make good decisions.

Anyway, I would just say to your question, why did God allow there to be doctors? When I broke my arm, there would have been no point in me not having it fixed, I probably would have died eventually as a result (it was broken very badly!) and then what would have been the point in me having broken my arm, I might have well have just died right then. If God wanted me to die then I'm sure he could come up with a far better illness than a broken arm, agreed?

In response to your additional details:
Doctor's in fact do the work of God, by healing people. Think about the miracles that Jesus performed, curing people of leprosy, blindness and all sorts of problems, (we'll assume that God and the Bible are true for the moment) if God didn't ever want people to be healed then Jesus would not have done that.

Isn't believing in God essentitally the same as believing in the Devil, and vice versa. I believe that they both exist, OK perhaps I don't believe (or trust) IN the devil, but you see what I mean. It is a pretty crazy suggestion to make that the devil is responsible for all health care.

You are in fact wrong about Scientists disagreeing with Christians. That is absolutely not true. Science is not as clearly defined as everyone seems to think. For example, I would bet a fair amount of money that you would think that evolution is contrary to Christian beliefs. I believe that I am right in saying that there would hardly be one Christian scientist who believes in the seven day creation theory, but in fact believes that evolution is true. That is what I believe, just that the minutely small chances are in fact explained by the presence of God.

Naaman the Syrian had to go and wash in the Jordan ... he couldn't just sit and wait for God to heal him ... God had provided a way, he had to accept and act on it.

Ultimately, everything is God's "will"; not everything is what He wants; some is just what He permits.

And we do NOT follow someone of "hell"; rather, Someone Who came from and is in Heaven.

We believe that God has provided knowledge, even to doctors and such. We should avail ourselves of that. Sometimes they can not bring about healing. Sometimes God does not heal in this life .... if He would heal everyone everytime they ask, then people would follow Him just for what they can get, physically.

Ultimately God is in total control; He does ALLOW much to happen because of the acts of humanity. That is the cause of much disease, disaster, etc.

He will make all things new.

God likes us to do some of our own work! I've seen people healed through prayer miracles (twice my prayers, to non believers) and I've heard people give thanks to God for the knowledge He has given doctors and nurses to cure them. Why some people are healed instantly, some through medicine and some not at all is one of the things we cannot know or pretend to know. It makes God happy to see us caring for the sick, it shows His love to the world. You can't really feel the truth of this unless you have met with God yourself. I didnt believe any of it myself until Jesus simply showed up one day and showed me how real He is, I merely put my hand up when a preacher asked if anyone would like to be blessed by Jesus and I was instantly baptised in the Holy Spirit and healed of depression. Even Christians, though, get disappointed with God when our friends and relatives get sick and God doesn't do a miracle. It can't be answered simply, because like I said we don't know all the answers.

You sound angry. We seek medical attention becouse God uses the medical profession as a tool to aid us in getting better. Even in the Bible there were doctors. I don't believe the doctors are doing the devils work except in cases like abortion, embyonic stem cell research, and cases like these. Becouse we don't know if it's God's Will we stay or go we like to think it isn't our time and do what we can to get better!

Not everything that happens to me is gods will, I sin just like you do, It is my will to sin not gods.

Is it not Gods will for their to be doctors?
Is not letting nature take its course, Evolutionism.

If there is no God, why do you ask questions about him? Are you not waisting your time?

Or is there a God and a Devil, and are you working for the Devil trying to get those who believe to follow your way of not believing.

I still wonder if i am religious or not, people tell me even if i gave HIM up... he didnt give up on me... but anyway, i totally agree, but would like to bring up free will. If we have our own, and if god listens, and if praying for others isnt wrong..... The idea is that god doesnt interfere with the earth, he gave us everything, and now just watches, but that the devil takes a more active part... based on that, i just give up :) Life death and chips are over rated.

With all due respect, your premise is erroneous.
Every thing that happens to a person is not, repeat: not, God's will.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 refers to "time and unforeseen occurence",
or according to some translations: "luck".
God controls matters much the same as the president of a company.
The president of a company is not beside the guy in the mail room telling him how it should be.
He gives space for personal initiative.
He oversees generally.

Some folks do just that. Others believe that modern medical technology is a gift from God.
I do both: Pray AND go to the doctor.

BTW, Nice troll.
That otta get ya some action.

Science:
BTW, since you brought it up, science tells us HOW things are done, _+not+_ WHO did 'em.
Here's the breakdown:
Religion tells us WHO did things
Science tells us HOW things were accomplished
Philosophy steps all over itself trying to read God's mind

well said bro, good job
this will certainly shake up some religious smart a s s but undeniably there are some whom actually succumbs to god's will

by god's guidance
they knew what's gonna happen but they're not psychics
if they be sick, they get cured the natural ways as you've said
they lead a humble simple low profile life and they really knew where they'll be heading after death
they really knew who god is and will never reveal HIS secrets unless of course, godwilling
To ordinary people, they are just another ordinary human but to the unseen they are god's people

in fact these are, can i say the few chosen ones
are you one of them?
then bless be upon you-you're so fortunate
